I'm fairly experienced with dogs, just rescued my first puppy, and she is surprisingly well behaved, but I need advice on the following:
eating crap
nose to the ground and eats everything outside
pulls on leash, yet wont walk - sits down
jumps
counter surfer
doesn't understand no or come
Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Erin,
DebbyI have trained three puppies over the years and they continue to surprise me. As far as eating crap (I assume you mean feces), if it is their own, there is a product called Forbid that you sprinkle on their food. It makes their crap taste like, well, crap. You might also try picking it up as soon as you can so it is not tempting. As for walking, try a Gentle Leader or Halti. They are head halters and work by pulling the dog's nose down when they try to pull. They are better than choke collars. Jumping on people can be corrected by gently stepping on the back toes or, again gently, by bringing your knee up into the puppy's chest as the puppy attempts to jump. Counter surfer -- push everything back as far as you can. Patience, patience, patience with all training. Obedience classes would be a good investment as well. Good luck!!!
